De R-8AI-8DIDO Profinet digitale gemengde module is ontworpen om te voldoen aan de behoeften van flexibele bekabeling, beperkte installatieruimte en toepassingen met hoge I/O-dichtheid met geïntegreerde netwerkmogelijkheden. Met twee 10/100 Mbps Ethernet-poorten biedt deze module 8 analoge ingangen en 8 digitale kanalen, elk afzonderlijk configureerbaar als digitale ingang of uitgang. Configuratie is mogelijk via een webserver met HTML5-ondersteuning of een DIP-switch.
De module kan worden aangesloten in Ethernet daisy chain-modus met fault bypass, waardoor de continuïteit van de Ethernet-verbinding wordt gegarandeerd, zelfs als één module uitvalt. Configuratie wordt vergemakkelijkt via software zoals softPLC CODESYS en de TiA Portal/Simatic Step7-ontwerpomgeving.
